I'm a Carpenter. Id rather keep spending $1.25 on a pair of dollar store headphones. I'd guess I get 2 weeks out of pair on average.
I've tried a few sets of cordless...they kill battery on a long day, and don't work so well when dropped into a bucket of thinset.
Don't forget my phone's are lucky to last a year.

I bemoan the loss of the headphone jack just because its removal seems pointless and abusive towards the consumer, but I do also believe that wireless earbuds and headphones are almost always superior to wired when you factor in the convenience factor. tbh I don't get why so many people insist on using wired earbuds.

That's about where I've landed. The 3.5mm jack is nice because it's a dead simple standard that can work on any device in a pinch, for that reason alone removing it was dumb if not outright sinister.
But wired earbuds fricking suck. I'm the biggest luddite I know but I'll vouch for bluetooth any day, especially if you do physical activities while listening. The one convenience wired has - no charging required - is never an issue, and the few issues wireless has - losing connection, lower quality - are pretty insignificant or rare enough it's not much of a bother. Meanwhile wired get tangled and snag on everything and just remembering that happening back in high school raises my cortisol levels a hair.

I used to think that, but years ago I dropped $70 on some JBL(?) wired earbuds that also wrapped around the ear and was somewhat open-ended, so I could heard enough around me while enjoying a good level of bass.
I'd ride my bike to the gym, so they were great for that scenario too.
Th Bluetooth earbuds also act as earplugs which blocks too much outside noise. I'm not all about blocking out random conversations with people, but I get it if you live in a city with "high sociable walls."

You save a tiny amount of space by putting it directly under the the screen. Also they would have to redesign the back too cause camera lenses go all the way through the phones now to max out image quality.
Basically the same with the memory card, but then no card helps them sell you some overpriced cloud subscription that runs at 100kb/s in 2024.
