I want to be Christian but I am gay, is this a problem?

/r/Christianity unanimously reassures OP that it’s fine, God loves anal s*x and unlike those priggish Catholics who will tell you to just sort yourself out and don’t do it, it actually doesn’t matter! :carpwholesome:

Pay no mind to the comments suggesting otherwise. God’s strongest warrior (Reddit) will take care of them.

That is the grave sin of presumption.

Confession is only meant to work if you are repenting for the sin and trying not to sin again. Otherwise it's just bragging.

Of course, indulgences and all that shows there's a loooong history of buying your way into forgiveness on the Catholic Church, so you get to pick between the letter and the spirit of the doctrine.

That's not what indulgences were about, indulgences were bought to acquire "satisfaction" for sins committed, not forgiveness, forgiveness is won by repentance, but since Catholics believe that sins have a double effect (tarnishing your soul as well as separating you from God), while you can mend the second problem through sincere repentance, the damage caused by sin remains, which has to be paid either in life or after death (that's the purpose of Purgatory, for those who died in friendship with God but whose character was still tarnished by sin).

Ok and then you can just confess to your priest about that later. No biggie :marseyshrug:
