Wild cannabis- anyone tried it?

I'm not big on the ol' devil's lettuce, but I have this small plant that sprouted on my property this year which left me wondering- is it possible to.get high off it? Has anyone even tried?

The context of this question is as follows:

I know this is Cannabis sativa sativa because that's what grows in the wild here. I think this is one of the species that people smoke, so that's one point in its favor, however, I also know that this is the edible cannabis which is processed into edible seeds and oils in many of the foods that I have on the regular, and I definitely don't get high off that.

Finally I've heard that while it's legal here to grow cannabis in the fields, you're not allowed to do so in greenhouses or inside homes. Could it be that it just needs more heat/sunlight to produce the good chemicals?

So what do you all think? Would it theoretically be possible to get high of wild plants? Should I try it for science :sciencejak:?

Just try it. Smoking the leaves gives you a mild high and wild plants will probably vary in potency. I've tried outdoor grown hippie weed where they harvest the nugs later, much more of a mellow high. It might not even be a female plant idk how to tell

Is it only female plants that are consumed? Didn't know that

I think you can consume male plants but they are like orders of magnitude less potent. I think if u have a male plant ur supposed to blend literally all the plant matter and then make oil/hash out of it

Yeah i believe thats why they are sought after the most, the males dont prosuce buds that people want to smoke so youre just left with wasted time and a plant

you cant reliably tell its s*x until it starts to flower but its whatever

The males produced little balls at the nodes that open up looking kind of like pacman and release pollen. They're also typically taller with more space between each node, but it's hard to judge that without multiple of the same specific type for comparison.
