Buprenorhpine from pain clinic, lyrica from primary care, drug seeking behavior or legitimate pain management?

they got on buprenorhpine within 3 months of starting the pain clinic (no history of pain meds being prescribed before, but history of drug abuse) does this seem legit??? my understanding is that because lyrica is a gabaergic that it has depressive synergy with the bupe, and said person has prior opiate addiction history *sips tea*

Indication is for pain right? Gaba + opioid is abusable but you’ll notice because the scrips for the gaba will seem very high or they’ll want early refills. It’s very common though because they always try and start off treating pain with non opiates. Buprenorphine is commonly prescribed to prior addicts, if they’re abusing they’ll try and switch off it.
