You're probably mostly correct about junkies being junkies and tending to mix pills with whatever else (lord knows I have plenty of times), but at the same time dealers are fricking r-slurred and WILL lace random drugs with fent, whether on purpose or by accident. The fact that drugs change hands so many times before they make it to the end user also means there isn't just one opportunity for it to happen, but several.
