Is it just me or has weed essentially been legal nationwide for a while now ever since that farm bill loophole several years ago. Except in very specific states, you can go into any gas station, cbd, or tobacco store and buy delta 9 products. I went into a brewery the other day (sadly not a barcade ) and there was delta 9 beer on tap. Even if it's banned your state, you can still just buy it online.
Used to you could get pt-141 from anywhere for your chemsex needs then some legit pharma company called it ‘vyleesi' and all the sudden you can't get it without a script or without ordering from a Chinese poison factory. Bunch of bs.
Its actually not even true, the feds and state cops are just being lazy. The analog law basically allows enforcement of all of these as if they were the same as the OG
A controlled substance analogue shall, to the extent intended for human consumption, be treated, for the purposes of any Federal law as a controlled substance in schedule I.
(c) Limitation
For purposes of this section, evidence that a substance was not marketed, advertised, or labeled for human consumption, by itself, shall not be sufficient to establish that the substance was not intended for human consumption.
So not only does it apply, it also means an analog of a non-schedule 1 drug is harsher in penalty than the original since section a considers the analog schedule 1. The standard is whether it was made to be consumed by people or by a lab as a reagent. If by people, you're fricked.
I was under the impression that the analogue act was pretty conclusively determined to be unenforceably vague outside of extremely egregious large quantity distribution cases, and that is why the DEA emergency-schedules new groups of research chemicals a couple times a year instead of prosecuting them under the analogue act?
You're right about the human consumption bit overriding everything though. But at the same time, the farm bill (AIUI) very specifically exempts the 'nnoids from all existing drug laws thanks to the farmer lobby.
It is super vague but it is enforceable, its just really really hard to win on it because of a few changes. Adderal is meth, yet because its so toned down and useful you wont get an analogue conviction even if you theoretically could. A lot has to do with pathway to create the end product, precursors, effects and intended use so its really really hard to win those
Do you remember when kratom first came out and all the shots had like 250mg of odsmt? Good times they're selling "amanita" mushroom bars now so hopefully there's something fun in there
Met a schizo in a bar once who said he was tripping on the shroom chocolate bars so sounds like it works. I personally think shrooms are shit compared to lsd so I'm still praying for a widely available analogue
Occasionally the most ghetto vape shops and gas stations get busted for selling synthetic weed or kratom but there's multiple not-dispensaries selling Delta 8 and 9 in my city
I think enforcement varies pretty heavily by municipality and county in the south these days, depending on exactly where you are they may be hardasses about it or they may just do the whole "I don't really give a shit about it personally and I'm not going to bring you in for it but I'm legally required to confiscate it and tell you drugs r bad". And that's only with the actually-illegal traditional delta 9, I think most departments have thrown their hands in the air and given up on dealing with all of the farm-bill-legal analogues outside of DUI scenarios.
A lot of the bluer urban areas have straight up instructed their cops and DAs to not prosecute weed cases at all too; I know of at least two medium-large cities in my state that adopted that as official policy.
Delta-9 is regular weed, Delta-8 is a slightly different THC that is legal under the farm bill as long as it's obtained from "hemp" and has slightly different/calmer effects than Delta-9. Or 11-hydroxy.
So regular weed is primarily comprised of delta 9 thca when you apply heat it becomes delta9thc what they do to get it legally is they take cbd and heat it with an acid like citric acid and a solvent like ethanol and as it fluxes it turns into various thc compounds. Most commonly delta 8 thc and delta 9 thc. Delta 9 thca, which you can't achieve from this process, is typically chemically seperated from the plant and isolated as a crystal or powder by crashing the thc out of a super saturated solvent solution. In legal markets these are just sold as thc diamonds.
Delta 9 thc is illegal in the farm bill but because it specifies by weight it is very easy to make legal strength delta 9 thc edibles that are legal.
the sativa indica discussion is nonsense. The cannibinoids that specifically produce sleepy and hyper effects are cbn and thcv respectively. You can purchase both online. You'll find these present in some percentage naturally in Marijuana that produces a heavy effect in either direction. Sativa/indica is just a physical descriptor at this point. Sativa has long thin branches and large nodal spacing for survival in humid hot climates. Indica is the opposite for the opposite reason
Was that always the distinction and the different sensations attributed to it arose out of the selection process? Or was it originally used to describe the different high feelings and now it just describes the plant morphology?
The first one basically. You can find sleepy sativas and hyper indica. There's no real logical reason for a humid plant to exclusively cause hyperness and vice versa. It's more like the human association of hot is fast and cold is slow
THCa does since it's just regular weed that they harvest early before it decarboxylates into delta 9 THC. Applying heat by smoking or vaping it decarboxylates it anyway, so it's essentially just legal weed if you're in a farm bill state.
Have you tried ordering it from 3-chi or harbor city hemp? Some sites will say sorry we don't ship to your state, but others don't seem to care. Also, some tobacco stores just don't seem to care either and stock it anyway.
Try not to get the capy in trouble -- don't give direct sources for shit that's considered illegal in the US (clearnet research chems and etc. should be fine)

Analog act has to prove intent to distribute and as long as you get schedule 4 and 5 analog it's no biggie

Does delta 9 work like regular weed? Or is it weird shit that either doesn't work or works like fake weed (eg. Spice or salvia)?
