Typical leftoid fantasy about Kennedy, that he was some kitty who was soft on communism.
It's true that he didn't want to invade Cuba. Instead, he tried to assassinate Castro.
It's true that he didn't want to rely on nuclear weapons as much as the Eisenhower administration. Instead, he wanted to fight limited conventional wars in places like Vietnam.
Ike, he wasn't bookish or particularly drawn to grand strategy or big-picture thinking
Yeah, the supreme commander of all allied forces in Europe during ww2 didn't know anything about strategy or the big picture. Jesus Fricking Christ I swear half the articles in The Atlantic are written by literal r-slurs.

If he hadn't assassinated Ngo Dinh Diem it might have actually been limited (and successful) rather than the complete mess it turned into. But he was a stooge to the CIA and a deeply amoral man. in 20th century America
!Catholics in the USA are historically keen to defend JFK but he martyred a genuinely pious, democratically elected and western-allied leader before getting us involved in an unmitigated foreign policy disaster.

Journos are like: MILITARY BAD! DAE THINKS THE MILITARY ARE DUMB JOCKS?
and they're like that in every country of the world
I'm going to repeat from my former comment, JFK biggest accomplishment was getting shot. His death gave LBJ power to pass all the legislation they wanted, otherwise the Civil Rights Act would have taken a few more years to pass on a lighter version first, Apollo would have been cancelled by JFK himself, Vietnam would still happen and JFK would be seen as some average 20th century president. His assassination created a myth around him, same for his Nepo-brother. @Aevann
