Yeah. I've noticed a trend that modern media featuring female villains often has a last-minute redemption arc, or a backstory that excuses their various atrocities.
Compare that to older stories where the villain is either just evil (Jafar from Aladdin, the Goa'uld from Stargate), or has an understandable motivation which merely helps explain their malevolence (Annie Wilkes from Misery, Scorpius from Farscape).

Jenny's not a good person and she is certainly an antagonist but I wouldn't go as far as to call her a villain. She seems pretty self aware about what a piece of shit she is, which is why she always pushes Forrest away. She knows she's not good enough for him, mental disability and all.
Also, it's been a while since I've seen the movie, but doesn't she ghost him AFTER he got rich? And her contacting him again was more about wanting she and Forrest's kid to know his dad before she dies.

Maybe getting a kid was all part of his master plan. That part is kind of important if he's going to have someone take care of him on account of him being r-slurred.
Did Forrest plot to have Jenny contract AIDs so that she would die and get out of the way??? It's not implausible seeing as how he was able to do all that other shit, and he had infinite money and resources to make it happen.
