In his defense Dexter was terrible

Dexter was great for a few seasons and then became peanut buttered horseshit at the end.

They recently released a new season (after about a decade) and it's just as bad as the previous one

Dexter is why I never watch any show recommended by my friends. I will hold this against them for the rest of my life.

(This policy has saved me from watching Game of Thrones, The Witcher, all Star Wars slop, and so much more!) :marseyfeelsgoodman:

You need to commit about a feature length's film worth of time to each installment. It's technically episodic, but there are clear arcs and they're intended to be watched individually as such to get both narrative intent and emotional heft of it all; each is about the length of a movie, so it works out.

Watching like an episode or two, turning it off, watching another, repeat won't work at all. It's really fricking good if watched as written though.

The issue arises when you have enough free time that you can theoretically set aside more than that amount of time so you want to keep going, watch say a 3 episode arc and then begin the next one and you frick it up because you can't sit there for another 90 minutes after you've already done 2.5h.

Second and final season drops early next year and I'll be rewatching it again this winter to catch up.

Star Wars is and has always been r-slurred garbage. The original movies were good movies but the whole concept is trash

Watched a RLM review of some Star Wars slop and they said "Disney bought Star Wars thinking they'd get an entire universe full of possibilities, but they got a franchise of light sabers and space magic".

Don't remember the exact quote, I'm r-slurred. :marseybrainlet: Basically, anything not related to the first 3 movies doesn't sell.

The trick with most shows, including Dexter, is to just watch the first season and then quit. All the good ideas are used early on to ensure they get picked up for more seasons.

1st season sucked too. the whole concept is stupid. "i love to kill but i kill in the most boring way possible also im asexual". So interesting, great character cute twink.

Anyway s*x&violence is oversaturated on television, no i don't want to see someone fricking/killing in every tv show. do something interesting.

most boring r-slurs always are fascinated by killing, s*x, and hitler.

/u/I_LIKE_TRIALS are you seriously going to spread lies? I lost braincells reading his reddit comments. Why can't white people stick to things they're good like fricking the family dog?
