there was a kid in i think LA who was being horrifically abused by his parents, teacher called CPS countless times but the kid still ended up being beat to death. this is one of many such cases where CPS doesn't do their job, also i'm sure doing the job correctly with a BIPOC family is much more difficult and would get a lot of pushback because of how politicized it is
