500lb chonker wants to get into rock climbing but can't find any gear made for cows

Hi there /r/climbing!

I was wondering if anyone knows what is available (if any) in regards to gear for plus-sized people, harnesses in particular.

My buddy has been climbing for quite a while and whenever he has shown me videos i have been thoroughly impressed, and last week we (a group of friends) went out to Kultur Fabrikken, which is the biggest multi-activity facility in Denmark, and watched him and some of the people he knows out there climb around, even some of our other friends climbed and had a lot of fun.

The issue is, i want to try it, but i am corporeally challenged (aka Fat) and the standard equipment wont fit me, some may say i could just start out in the boulder room which might work, but i would still like to be properly equipped, in this case it's footwear (i don't like the thought of climbing barefoot) my feet are size 46-47EU (13-14½ US) and quite wide, I've found up to size 16 but i still worry about them being too narrow (i have to buy "skater" shoes normally since they aren't as narrow)

Looks like i elegantly danced right past the fat thing, i'm a male who's 1.85m high (~6ft) and 225kg (496lbs)

i haven't found harnesses or anything for larger people so far, i might be using the wrong search parameters but i doubt it

so if anyone has any knowledge/tips/comments i'm all ears.. or well all eyes?

OP can't even do a single chin-up but is convinced that if he just gets the right shoes he'll shimmy right up that wall.

The delusion really is something else

Yeah they're right about bouldering, it should at least make them face reality.

Are there many activities that require being fit more than rock climbing? You're literally dealing with strength to weight the whole time lmao.

A proper consoomer will always buy a whole bunch of expensive climbing gear rather than think about gravity for 5 seconds

I seriously doubt he'd even be able to get off the ground on the bouldering wall

He has basically unlimited energy so he can go hiking without packing any food.

Honestly a giga brain idea he can pack light and can lose like 100 pounds in the months of hiking beforehand and then do his climb at the end.

You're not supposed to pull yourself up the wall with your arms like that.
