Redditors defend the average zoomer doordash habits

how the frick do these people justify doordash and ubereats every day, it's INSANELY expensive and they can't afford it.

Like most people on 6 figures I know will do food delivery once a week or less and grumble about the price, but the poors just stack it on credit cards

Because in almost all cases, gaining weight is a symptom, not the root of the problem. It's not cruel to care about someone's health, but mentioning to someone they gained weight and you care about their health is not solving anything. Fat people know they are fat. The sister knows she gained weight. Telling her to stop eating is not helping her. Asking if something happened or if she has maybe other physical symptoms is caring about her health. However well intended it is when people say they care about the health of an overweight person, it's rarely really about their health, but rather about the weight and their own fear of being fat. I'm not saying that being overweight is not a problem, it definitely can be. I'm just saying that people worrying about fat people rarely do because they don't want them to get diabetes, but because they should want to be a "healthy weight "

it's hard for people to notice their own weight gain/loss since they see their own body every day. weight gain is incremental. having someone point it out before it gets worse is nice.

Honesty without empathy is just cruelty.
