Is intentional weight loss fatphobic? PlusSize

I don’t think losing weight in and of itself is fatphobic. I think the motive behind it can be. My SIL loses weight because she’s immensely fatphobic - she’s not losing weight for her health, she’s losing weight because she hates fat people.

I think the feeling that one needs to lose weight to be better accepted/accommodated by society (ie airplane seats) is rooted in fatphobia
