He was born in Russia but he is of Turkic ethnic origin, I have seen his ethnicity be cited as either Uzbek, Azeri, or Tatar, but since his name is apparently Ernest Khalimov (Халимов), then this ends the spergposting and confirms that he is an Uzbek, since this is some of the most common Uzbek surnames.
