I don't get it, but I fricking hate it when neurodivergents go online with a few terms they've learned in their Logic 101 class, and act like they're now winning the internet. Almost nothing is as annoying as that.

This shit is backwards to begin with. How many male writers write "sapphic romances" compared to the absolute deluge of fujoshi YA garbage being passed off as "representation"?

>household names like Haruki Murakami are constantly featured in /r/menwritingwomen

Whenever that sub includes actual literature it's almost always an out of context passage that is being analyzed from a YA novel viewpoint where good characterization is when the reader's self insert fantasy about being a girlboss isn't disrupted.

The foids that talk about good characterization on reddit always mention how the female characters they're reading being objectified by other characters or taking a backseat to the action makes them feel bad. Fanfic self-insert mentality leads to the lowest form of writing and it's no surprise that these posts love YA and genre fiction slop.

The very mentality of thinking that str8s writing fictional queers is somehow depriving actual queers is part of this.
