the men/schizzed-out vagrants here always have the most chill catcalls, its not nearly as vulgar as im used to in other cities lol, and the men here literally like only say some variation of “have a great day beautiful” or “god bless you shawty.” its honestly funny and relatively harmless and i havent rly felt unsafe yet, and is this a universal experience or like just me??? its like literally every other dude i pass so its def more frequent here but far less scary than im used to lmbo

New York is really chill and peaceful. People are pretty friendly too, friendlier than the West Coast imo. It's just people on sites like this calling everyone a hustle-and-bustlecel think it's some dangerous hellscape. They think Brooklyn is dangerous lol.

literally, and the people here are genuinely nice, which was super unexpected, and i will say the subway station on my block is too sketchy to venture totally into alone after the bars as a wammin wearing basically no clothes but thats about it, ive felt way safer here than literally everyone told me i would but go off i guess

I hate commiefornia as much as the next guy, but people out there are objectively nicer than they are on the east coast.
Maybe MA is worse than NYC, so my experience of how friendly people are is different than yours, but I fricking doubt it.

California people are fake nice. Interactions with New Yorkers might feel worse but objectively improve your life more.

Yeah maybe. People on both coasts definitely have completely different vibes.
