If we go out to eat fried food/anything unhealthy she will sit there and talk about how much she never eats this kind of food. Whenever we're hanging out, ALL she wants to do is talk about how guys think she's so hot and how she has so many guys throwing themselves at her. Like literally she never even lets me talk about myself, she doesn't care. Sometimes she'll laugh at me for what I wear or pick on me for my weight. It stresses me out because I feel like since the day I was born, I am my mother's daughter, but also for some godforsaken reason I'm her competition. It makes me uncomfortable. I hate it. I can tell she gets upset when guys give me more attention. sometimes we'll go out and she INVITES RANDOM GUYS SHE'S TALKING TO!!! And then all of the sudden I'm on a fricking date with her! I can't stand it, her entire world revolves around men and being perceived by them.
She's nearing her 60s now and still won't stop talking about how much men love her but she also won't stop talking about how she's getting old and losing her value. I. Can't. Stand. It. She's a broken fricking record. Every time we talk about ANYTHING it's about how she looks, the guys she's talking to, dieting, etc. I don't even try to talk to her about myself because she either doesn't listen or picks something out of it to make me feel bad about myself.
I don't know if this is a common experience, but I wanted to rant.
