Not much, truly. But this male is not in competition with any others for this allegedly attractive female, both reek of being bottom-tier objectively.

Whoa sweaty this reads a lot like projecting your anthropomorphic ideals onto animals without their consent.

Do better.

As someone who raised animals on a ranch, allow me to point something out.

If there were a herd of new mothers with a few males in the mix, working to watch out for the babies, this female would have some claim laid upon her. That a rando male follows her and her young without any interference from another bull says that either the herd mentality does not apply to manatees, or these are three manatees adrift in their lonely grazing pits and no others care for them. And that's always for good reason. Animals know when to reject their least healthy herd members

As someone who grew up next to a ranch and help raised the animals, let me point something out:

Animals are not your furbabies and your attempt to anthropomorphize their behavior does not make your interpretation of their behavior valid.

I've had to kill many pests (rattlesnakes, random big snakes) and I've put down over 100 pets. I don't think every living animal is my furbaby, I was just sharing some observations
