My best friend and his other best friend scheduled their vasectomies together. Called them "bestie vesties". Their spouses were delighted lol. All are child free and the guys were fed up with the health effects their wives had to suffer through from birth control, so they went for it.

That said, I live in a very liberal area with many child free adults. The attitude here is a lot different than what you e described.
