My high school drivers ed instructor (in the 'burbs of a major city) taught me that using blinkers before changing lanes is dangerous because it gives a signal to cars in the other lane to speed up and prevent you from merging in

Instead I was taught to just swerve aggressively into the lane I want to be in

I do the same when crossing the street as a pedestrian - look down at phone, refuse to make eye contact with drivers and pretend to be unaware of their presence and they usually stop to avoid hitting me

Instructor also taught me that when going to bars, if you catch a foid looking at you look away and count to five, then look back and if she is still staring go talk to her she wants the D

My instructor once told us fresh new drivers that if you have some guy tailgaiting you, speed up to avoid it :marseyshrug:
