as a woman, I'll tell you why I chose bear the first time I read the question.

It is a knee-jerk reaction because of the fact that many, many women have experienced really horrible things at the hands of men and have not experienced anything with a bear.

Most havent experienced anything with a man either, they just read about someone elses experiences online, or deluded themselves into thinking they were roofies or nearly r*ped.

When I read the question, I immediately thought bear because my mind shot straight to the man that r*ped me, and the other man that attempted to kidnap me, and the other man who drugged me.
