Christmas Cookie Thread

ITT Post your favorite Christmas Cookie recipes and other desserts.

Spritz Cookies make the bulk of my Christmas Cookies. These are basically sugar cookies.

The Real highlight is the Butter cookies. But skip that vanilla shit, I use orange extract, lemon extract, and cherry extract to make Orange, Lemon, and Cherry versions. I sadly no longer have my grandma's recipe for the chocolate ones.

I found a recipe that's basically a snickerdoodle except with cardamom instead of cinnamon and lemon zest instead of cream of tartar that are pretty good. Don't remember where I found it but just grab a snickerdoodle recipe and make 1:1 replacements.

Wait those are called spritz cookies? I thought there were just Italian cookies with no specific name. Those are really good because they’re not sickeningly sweet. The butter cookies sound very good too thanks for sharing please post some pics when they’re done!

Yes, spritz.

Those are really good because they’re not sickeningly sweet.

Which is why I like them.

Will do, I am thinking I will start next weekend and do them over the course of a week.

Spritz cookies are German as the name implies. Just use a pastry bag with a star tip and you get "Spritzgebäck". spritzen = piping in this context.
