Church Window Cake

This is a fun novelty cake to make if you want to pretend to have baking skills.

It's really just almond flour cake and apricot jam with some marizipan on the outside

Not my thing but I appreciate the effort required here :marseyloaf:

Do you bake the individual parts and assemble them later into the window shape? I have no fricking idea how marzipan works

You bake the two cakes separately, trim the edges and cut them in half. You then arrange them on top of each other using the jam as glue.

Marzipan is almond flour, sugar, and an egg. It's really just uncooked dough. Once it's made, wrap it around the cakes.

All of this was stolen from here

That's well done but I've never heard it called a church window cake. It's a Battenberg cake...

Looking good. Did you make your own marzipan?

I did!

I expected it to be a lot more involved than it was
