[Need recommendation] Want to buy whetstones for my kitchen knifes. Are they dual ones really that shitty or will they be okay? Anyone have any recommendations?
Depends on the stone you get, for this one I just soak the 1,000 grit side for five minutes before each use. The 6,000 grit side you don't soak, just pour a little water on the surface to keep it wet as you sharpen. Let it dry when you're done and store it out of sunlight.

Don't buy a Japanese Waterstone as your first stone or youll never want to sharpen your knives again. Get a spyderco sharpmaker

Oh nice, that was actually one of the ones I was looking at. Do you soak it overnight before first use? Or is that overkill?
