First ribs of the year

Now that it's almost April, I have to try to pretend it's not winter anymore, which means running the smoker when the wind is almost 25mph outside, resulting in completely unpredictable cooking temperatures.

Ribs turned out good anyway, though.

A midwestern tradition as important as hitting deer with cars.

I'm proud to say I've never hit a deer while living in the midwest

but i've come close more times than i can count

When I lived in new england, I remember driving out to the maine coast, and all across new hampshire, there is a sign every couple miles warning you about how you should watch out for moose (mooses?) crossing the road. Meanwhile the woods on the side of the road are like six inches from your car so there's no way in heck you're going to see a moose before it's right in front of your fricking car.
