On a day to day basis I'd take thin (like McD) way more often, because much more fried area, more area for seasoning and it's fun to grab lots of small things. In real life it balances out for me, because at home I can't be arsed to cut 1/4'' or 3/8'' so wedges it is.
WHY did they put the SMALLER 8 cut to the right, breaking the pattern?! they could've fixed the "number increase" by typing 1/8th and 1/6th, just like before! AAARGH!
5 guys fries taste like burnt potato skin and are soaked in oil. They have to salt them a lot to compensate. All they have to do is change the oil out more often.

Fries aren't meant to be potato-like. If the fries are too thick, they begin to resemble food.

The thickness of the cut isn't as important as his crispy the outside is and how much salt and msg is infused.
