the lunch lady would take the broken perogies from pierogi day and make pierogi casserole with cheese and bacon
We got poutine with whatever leftover meat scraps from the other days with the best gravy in the entire world

My school lunches were fully subsidized government trash. At least they were also fully free (my school district was poor as frick).
They had these things that were basically mcribs which were my fav lunch. The """ribs""" (formed meat patties) were never actually large enough for the govt surplus buns but at least the sauce they were absolutely drenched in had some flavor.
