I've never really done legit Chinese cooking before so I had to get a ton of the ingredients like the bean paste, Shaoxing wine, and Szechuan peppercorns.
It was really good and pretty easy, I'll definitely be making it again. I've never had Szechuan peppercorn before, they have a very distinctive and unique flavor and heat. They're not even so much hot in the traditional sense but they turn your entire mouth numb. Very unusual feeling.

do you have a gas stove? using a wok on my electric one is basically pointless. I'm kind of debating getting a wok induction heater or smth

Nah I have electric too. It feels pointless lol but I still use it.

i do all my wok recipes in a thick copper bottomed steel skillet, works better than the actual wok
