When me and the fellas were still actively traveling to tournaments, we would:
Meet up with all the guys from nearby regions
Hang out at the venue and watch
each other's games 
until everyone 
was done for the day
Maybe buy some shit from vendors or check
out the demo kiosks, play in some side events or just play some casuals with randoms and meet a few cool dudes
Frick off into town and enjoy our vacation
boozing, eating, and doing generic tourist shit
Repeat the next day
I almost feel like we were a bunch of losers when I look back on it like this, but then i remember that the community was 95%+ straight cis men before
the current generation 
of games 
and all the tournaments were just a nerd version of dudes being dudes. All of this shit coming out time after time after time breaks my brain.
