The new Hellraiser kind of slaps

Just finished watching it. Not a perfect movie by any means, but is easily in the top three. I’d probably put the 1987 first, followed by Hellbound, then this one a very close third. All the rest are waaaaay far below.

Agree. Honestly the only thing I disliked about it was the "Gen Z person has evil thing or is in evil scenario" trope. Because the story always plays out similar with people surrounding the main character.

Other than that found it pretty good. Effects were quite good, and I laughed when she did the thing at the gate. That was clever and an unexpected direction for the plot.

Also not surprised it was good, Bruckner directed Southbound and the Ritual, both of which are great horror films.

Apparently he also did The Night House, which I really enjoyed (primarily owing to Rebecca Hall’s performance, but of course she’s good in everything she’s in.
