Tulsa King is fricking awful

1883 is from the same creator, and the first 6 episodes are fricking great. It follows a family leading a troupe of European immigrants from Dallas to Montana in 1883.

It's not totally gritty, but more visceral than fighty

Fleischmann is in Trouble is pretty campy but very comfy. Jesse Eisenberg (Social Network) and Claire Danes (Homeland) deliver amazingly performances. Episode 7 is top 5 tv episodes this year

Under the Banner of Heaven is very gritty but also very historical (lots of flashbacks). It tells the story of a Mormon detective in Utah investigating a double homicide in a major Fundamentalist Mormon powerful family. Andrew Garfield and Daisy Edgar Jones star in this one.

Severance is the reddit show of the year. Gritty, cerebral, and very idk im drunk but the word is suspense and cliffhanger mixed in one. Highly recommend.
