TBH this movie was a rager and was a lot of fun. I keep waiting for Crank 3 but I know the world cannot handle a movie so based #RIPchester

My standards for action movies are low. If it doesn't have Liam Neeson in it, it's probably good. Frick Liam Neeson. That guy sucks

Wrong

Taken is capeshit, an adolescent power fantasy featuring an overpowered protagonist who is never in slightest bit of danger, mowing down baddies, and little else.

Liam Neeson in this film is the biggest Mary Sue since Charles Bronson in every film he made from Death Wish on.

Liam Neeson in this film is the biggest Mary Sue

No action hero in any movie is in any real danger, stupid. It's practically a hallmark of the genre that they can mow down people with their guns and throw them into walls and do oter supehuman shit. Tell me more about how Schwarzenegger isn't a 'mary sue' in any of his movies, or how the characters of John Wick or James Bond or Ethan Hunt aren't.

Yea it's a power fantasy and maybe I can agree with it being capeshit-adjascent, but this argument is just dumb

Schwarzenegger IS a Mary Sue in many of his films.

Liam Neeson was great in just about everything he was in (that I've seen) before Taken.

He may or may not be a good actor. I just hate his face. I tried to watch The Grey the other day and I had to turn it off because the hatred consumed me

She has the quintessential mayo girlboss face. I can understand that one too.

People always talk about how poorly written and unrealistic female characters are but even in real life women are poorly written

Whatever happened to Amy Smart?

She was great.

Wasn't she in some movies where she just got fricked in front of crowds and got wide eyed at a horse peepee? That probably did her career in.

She fricked in front of a ton of people in Crank and it was pretty funny. I'm not sure she's the sort of girl to shy away from that shit.

Edit: I looked her up and it isn't pretty. She plays the mom in this...

DC's Stargirl, or simply Stargirl, is an American superhero television series... follows high school student Courtney Whitmore who discovers the cosmic staff originally wielded by Starman and becomes the inspiration for a new generation of superheroes who become the new incarnation of the Justice Society of America.

Hollywood action peaked in the 80s and 90s. Very little worthwhile has come from Hollywood after 1999.

Hollywood Action Peaked Here

This is verifiably, measurably true, unless you consider Mad Max: Fury Road a hollywood film, which I dont.
