Temple of Doom isn’t that good.

That lady is so fricking annoying. She’s screaming and being r-slurred every second she’s on screen. I can’t take it.

It's better than raiders and it's not close. The amount of iconic/memorable scenes/bits is off the charts, it's hard to think of another movie with so many. Here, I'll list a few:

  • Kali Ma Shakti De rip your heart out

  • Bugs and centipedes everywhere, girl has to put her hand in

  • Last second hat grab before heavy door falls

  • Mine car chase

  • Disgusting meal, monkey brains

  • Cutting the ropes on bridge

  • "Chinese "Anything goes" antidote fight in club, then airplane, then raft drop, and that's just the intro

  • Nocturnal activities kiss scene.

Btw, temple is the only time spielberg shot a woman well, it's not a coincidence he married her.

Raiders has more iconic moments just in the jungle scene at the beginning.

Raiders jungle intro has idol head swap and giant boulder, it's a fantastic intro. But temple has more. And it's overall much better structured, raiders falls off a cliff in the midsection, only picks back up at the very end. I'm tired of the reddit opinion raiders is better, it's not.

What the frick are you talking about? The whole bit with the staff to find the treasure, the Nazi with amulet burned onto his hand, the fight scene by the airplane, the truck chase it rocks

Raiders is great don't get me wrong (bringing a gun to a sword fight, don't forget that one), but it slows down quite a bit in the middle (after the raven scene is where it starts to slow down). Temple's pacing is much tighter.
