I just read that the Paddington director is doing this, so I wonder if it may actually be a good family film. It seems stupid as frick on the surface but I guess it could work if it doesn't take itself too seriously. Or maybe I should say it needs to sincerely whimsical. That's what mainly separates the Wilder version from the Depp one imo, despite the latter being much more faithful to the book, plot-wise.
