I liked Cruella but it’s clearly not the same character. I thought of it more as a “what if” type story where Cruella wasn’t raised by his psychotic part-devil mother and instead had a much healthier upbringing.

Once I thought about it more, it could be interesting if they show a lot of factory hijinks. Don't see that here though, but might just not be in the trailer. This looks like a pretty by-the-books musical, actually. I was expecting it to be about him finding the oompa loompas and shit like that in a fantasy-adventure type thing.

I'm not a child anymore so chances are I'd never watch them anyway but I can't stand these "villain/jaded person/misunderstood etc is actually good guys" prequels, they're all shit. Maleficent was the one that made me mald the most but that's because it was the only one I watched.
