Law & Order - Original Intro (1990-1991)
A TV station here has started replaying Law & Order from the very beginning. I really love the mood of this intro, allowing the viewer to be immersed into the world of the show. This was back when network television didn't have to cram in 16 minutes of advertising every fricking hour.
The visuals and the music really draw you into law enforcement in the early 90s. It's just wonderful.
Regarding the show itself, I've never seen the earliest series before, and I had no idea that Capt Craven from SVU was also the original lieutenant in Law & Order. Dann Florek is younger and more brash here, which adds depth to his later performance.
It is a crime that George Dzundza (as Det. Max Greevey) was only in one season, as he had great chemistry with Chris North's Det. Mike Logan. Michael Moriarty brings gravitas to his role as ADA Ben Stone.
A great show from the first episode.

The intro was awesome. For several years, I've been looking all over for the reproduction stills of those B/W courtroom pics, including the one with the attorney pointing across the courtroom, but I can't find them. Maybe someone will one of these days.
