Weekly "What are you watching?" thread

What have you plebs been watching? How was it? Tell us!

NO ANIME

Yesterday I went to the kinoplex and watched the new Mission Impossible movie. It was dope, but not as good as Fallout

Later in the day I watched The Chaser (2008), a gritty dark Korean movie about a ex-cop turned pimp trying to save his hoes from a serial killer

Oh yeah I also watched The Graduate (1967) and that movie fricking suckedddddd.

I’ve been watching a lot of Lesbian porn. And I’m a gay man. Something about it is… titillating? (Literally!)

Can you imagine a straight man saying this? Oh I'm straight, but I've been watching a lot of gay porn recently

No! That man is not straight! And neither are you gay! You are a straight man, and the only difference between you and me is that you enjoy semen enemas in your butt and I do not. Your identity as a gay man is just a cope to rationalize this simple fact of reality

Mad Men. Just got through Season 2. Just a very interesting look at how some of America was in the 60s, like that a lot of people hated Kennedy even though he's lionized today, as well as some very compelling characters.

Been going through every Bond film slowly. I’m mostly working on improving my piano and composition skills so I’ve been watching a LOT of videos on music theory and practice instead of tv.

I tried watching the last kingdom on Netflix bc I read the first book a while back and didn’t know there was a tv show. The pacing seems strange. Idk if I should continue it. My wife feels the same way, much like the first episode of the Witcher, it seems ridiculous and pandering to a younger, neckbeard audience

Also the bear season 2 is like 100% better than the excellent season 1. Everyone in the service industry I talk to about it loves it, esp the Copenhagen and Ritchie epsiode. People who aren’t industry seem to love the annoying meme Christmas epsiode which felt like Reddit bait

I read the first Last Kingdom book back in 2015 when the first season started, and quickly learned they skipped over like the entirety of Uhtred's childhood

The Bear S2 was like peak kino. Copenhagen and Forks (Richie episode) were so kino, legit might be better than even Succession

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

Oh indeed. I fricking love that show. Legit earned tears and not from saccharine editing. I gave up on succession during season 2 because none of the characters were likeable and I couldn’t stand the entire over and over of whether the company will be lost. I got tired of what they tried to make tension, just seemed repeating the same shit over and over

Last kingdom the show is just okay, it's not great or even very good.

The books are excellent though, I've read them all. Also a big fan of Sharpe, which he also wrote.

He's wrote quite a bit of different series/books, they're all mostly historical fiction, but from various time periods. I think they're fun.

Jump in the discussion.

No email address required.

Yeah my dad said Sharpe is good. He’s read a lot of his work.

I watched the new episodes of 'What We Do In The Shadows'. I binged watched the first four seasons while I was sick and the last few episodes of season 4 felt like a drag. The quality isn't much better here, you get the sense of a show past its prime. Sort of like later Futurama, I guess, the new season of which I will also watch next week even though I expect it to be butt.

I have plans to watch some action films soon, potentially, as I never saw most of the popular ones because my father liked westerns and old American and British comedies so that's what he had on TV.

I started watching Westworld. It's fine so far.
