Actually, it isn't 'go woke, go broke,' it's audiences getting tired of bad superhero movies. No, I am not interested in discussing what makes The Marvels shitty.

Marvel is the name of the comic book company. No one wants to see a film get made about sweaty autists writing capeshit, they barely tolerate capeshit as it is
well not necessarily the "woke" part on its own but that's definitely a significant part, I'd say 10-15% of it. Mostly it's because the cgi is just not as captivating anymore - any armchair youtuber can produce similar cgi (i.e. looks real enough)
And so now the weight falls all on the story, which Also has degraded. Not only that but similar to the cgi situation there are more writers able to reach a bigger fanbase so more tropes and stories are being read.. so marvel either needs to really step up their game or they will lose to smaller productions.
This is where the "woke" part comes in: so the cgi doesn't quite 'feel' extraordinary, and neither does the story. And they are focusing on the cast. They are themselves falling into a cliche trope of putting a patch of tape on a pipe with a small leak while tank is overflowing. Casting diverse actors does frick all for the actual story and special effects.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk, haven't seen a marvel movie made in the last 5-10 years btw.

My biggest fear from the movie's failure is that nazi chuds will use it as a talking point for "go woke, go broke"![:marseyraging: :marseyraging:](https://i.rdrama.net/e/marseyraging.webp)
