@cyberdick. Since, you asked about whether Aquaman will outgross The Marvels or not in the last thread. Here's your answer. It will almost double it.

Is hollywood finally going to let capeshit die? Has there been a successful capeshit movie since the second infinity war?

Guardians 3 made a bunch this year but I think it's just because people like the IP. Deadpool is out next summer and it'll make a ton because of Ryan Reynolds. They probably won't be greenlighting many more B list hero films though.

I think the spiderman movie was successfull, even though it sucked.

That movie was so stupid. I hated it so much. Every plot point was contrived to make the stupidest decision possible. Haven't watched any capeshit since.

Yeah, I dont get why it was so hyped. Even with nostalgia glasses you must have realized that 'the evil guys from previous spiderman movies arent actually evil, we just need to create a serum to heal their evilness' is a gigatrash plot even for a childrens movie.

It does come off weirdly too since even in those movies they're not really 'evil' because they just are, they're evil because they already had those tendencies in them, it's just that they were enabled to act upon their darker side once they got supered up. Even the goblin was already an butthole, he just got crazier because of doing too much crack.

Never watch the Disney Spider-Man movies. Do they do this shit with Doc Ock as well or just with Green Goblin? For Osborn it makes sense because the Goblin treatment is what made him a full-on mass murderer, but Octavius was only violent because the AI in his arms was overriding his good sense.
Edit: I watch one clip of the big dramatic fight scene at the end, my god this is so fricking bad. All 3 Spider-Men temporarily lose their spider sense so one of them can be dramatically back-stabbed, and we don't actually see the stab happen or any blood, just a *snikt* sound effect and Toby Maguire's o-face.

yeah the Doc isn't really a villain in that movie, he's just kind of there. I think Tobey Maguire gets better too. One thing I do think is funny is how they couldn't get the sandman actor, so they just CGI'd him in the entire time.

Thomas Haden Church was in the film and he showed up as a human at the end of the film. He probably doesn't get much screentime because he's not nearly as big as Molina, Foxx, and Dafoe. Rhys Evans barely gets any screentime, although Church should've gotten more time b/c the lizard villain is utterly forgettable.

Really? I honestly thought that they just had him phone in some voicelines and then replayed old footage from 'man 3 when they needed him in human form. Darn.

I only watched the last like 30 minutes of that. I thought it was kind of funny as a metaphor about superheroes in that he basically sacrifices his humanity, relationships and everything so that he can just keep doing capeshit shit for the viewing audience.
I just don't understand what the stakes for Peter are in this universe since he could just send his family into superhero protective custody or whatever since the world's full of random heroes.
