@cyberdick. Since, you asked about whether Aquaman will outgross The Marvels or not in the last thread. Here's your answer. It will almost double it.

Why does anyone think Zaslav would be fired? Because he butchered WB's dying business and is actually making it profitable again? Also, only idiot capeshit consoomers think DC vs Marvel matters to this company even a tiny bit after Zaslav led Discovery on their ridiculous and unexpected bull run during Covid to the point where they put him in charge of the merged company. WBD is way bigger than some washed up bullshit like Aquaman, give me a fricking break.

because he cancelled the show I like and therefore deserves death
really I think people are focused too much on the streaming wars, which HBO/WB doesn't seem to be winning

Yeah they're not winning the streaming wars because the other companies involved are too big to be acquired now. They made some good decisions though, like merging Discovery Plus (which had a surprisingly decent subscriber base believe it or not) into HBO Max and immediately firing everyone involved with that CNN streaming shitshow they were trying to make happen.

It's more that they want him to be fired because he cancelled some cartoons and nuked flicks that were obviously going to flop.
It's less DC vs Marvel and more that Aquaman was expected to be the biggest bomb of the year. The movie wasn't going to be good. WB realised that and decided to cut their losses and be frugal on marketing.
So you had people who already hate Zaslav hoping that this measure backfires and Aquaman bombs even harder. The Marvels just happened to make a convenient benchmark because it's arguably the biggest bomb of the year(tied with maybe Indiana Jones). Of course, now WB stands vindicated with their frugal measures on Aquaman and it's another win for Zaslav/WB (along with other success like Barbie and Wonka). So some of the anti-Zaslav types are disappointed.

He killed Raised By Wolves so I want to insert my fists into his anal cavity and snap him in half like a pistachio shell.

I watched season 1 and thought it was pretty shakey. I vaguely recall an android giving north to a flying snake. Is season 2....better? Maybe, constrained? I thought the characters were good, especially Father.

Season 2 is even more batshit crazy. They started adding some more Alien-style horror elements, which was cool. There were lots of interesting sci-fi concepts like the atheists being ruled by an AI supercomputer which decides the best courses of action for the colony. The main complaint I saw was that it would end up like Lost where questions wouldn't be answered, but the writer had the entire story arc planned out years before they greenlit it. It's just too bad something so unique and weird was allowed on TV and then brutally extinguished It was mainly one creative man's vision instead of death by committee slop. But unlike House of the Dragon, people had to actually pay attention instead of going on they darn phones, so it was doomed.
Cheers, fatherchad
