Disney needs to make their content at the very least palatable to children, and I don't think they're doing a good job because they've shifted focus from literal children and teens to grown butt Disney adults.
If kids don't watch their slop, then they won't badger their parents to go to Disneyland locations. If they don't go to Disneyland locations then they won't even buy Disney products like toys. If the snot-nosed brats aren't buying merch and going to their parks then Disney will enter a slow death spiral the leftover incompetents can't fix
