Watching :marseyoperasmug: Killers of The Flower :marseysocratesyourself: Moon right :marseytedwasright: now

So far it's about a simple :marseysmug4: man robbing the rich. I guess :marseyshrug: the comrades probably liked this movie.

He marries a lesbian. That is really :marseythinkorino2: progressive right?

I hated it. Scorsese wasn't a good choice for putting that story to screen.

Perhaps no one is.

Regardless, I can somewhat appreciate anything coming out now that isn't capeshit.

Scorsese's only good film was Taxi Driver, the rest were either predictable and boring biopics that a wikipedia article could've done been better or just plain terrible !kino agree

He's overrated but if Goodfellas and Casino didn't resonate with you, you need to spend more time hanging out with criminals.

I actually enjoyed Bringing out the dead. Although, I don't rate his recent works all that much. Unsurprisingly, ever since he spoke out against capeshit his films have been getting a lot more attention. The Letterboxd and film twitter crowd constantly remind us how he's greatest living director :marseyshrug: despite his latest works being so so.

Bringing out the dead was a cool idea but executed poorly

I was feeling mafia and was off of work for the day so I watched godfather and goodfellas. Goodfellas was fine, I think a rewatch would do a lot. Godfather just blows it out of the water though.

My least favorite movie though was WoWS. Most boring thing imaginable, omfg

The Aviator pissed me off a lot. It doesn't make any sense it's just "he does random things because he's crazy, lol quirky". When really Howard Hughes was probably just in constant chronic pain from the plane crash and fricked up out of his mind on morphine.

But the great auteurs usually don't have more than 2-3 movies to make. Even Michael Mann has usually sucked since Heat.

Kenneth Branaugh should have quit after Henry V and Much Ado About Nothing.

shutter island was good even though it was derivative and isn't worth watching a second time.

the aviator was good, but i guess that's what you're calling a boring biopic

the color of money is good, but its fricking tom cruise, so of course it's good.

edit: forgot to add bringing out the dead. top nic cage kino.

I feel like it should have been a Cohen Bros movie.

It would've been much better as a dark comedy.

It's just

It's just too frickin long man

There's a scene in which a guy wordswordswords how he murdered a woman, and right afterwards there's a flashback scene showing him murdering her, bravo Scorsese I would never have understood what he meant by "I got her drunk and then shot her" if you hadn't shown me

Worst part was that fire around their house, while they just lay there. Ohhhh, the fire is outside. Ohhhh, people are putting out the fire or not or whatever. Ohhhh, :marseysleep:.

Felt like a 5-minute scene.

It's very :marseymid:.

When it finished, I still didn't care about any of the characters. And that silly Indian foid married another white man. I mean, they all did, and were constantly surprised that they were getting murdered.

Also, the murder scenes were absolute shit. Such lazy writing.

I thought the murders were more systemic, but it was only one family, so that really set an underwhelming tone for me.

Other than, the sets were really good, the acting good enough except the women who were mediocre, and well that's it. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
