I enjoyed it, but it's a stand alone movie and nothing more. No one anywhere ever claimed for a sequel.

There isnt a single thing in the story from the movie worth expanding into an 8 or however many episodes series.

Hollywood def thinks so.

The problem with Book of Eli was it was one of the worst examples of "le bleak and le serious everything washed out grayscale" coloring that movies loved for some reason from like 2004-2011. Look at Fury Road for a comparison (which is a direct descendent of The Road Warrior, which inspired the whole aesthetic to begin with). You can make a desolate post-apocalyptic scenario while using actual color and making it interesting
