Thinking of seeing it. Fury Road was one of the best movies I've ever seen. I think directing/editing has reach a peak in recent years, movies like Fury Road and Dune 2 are able to fill hours while never feeling boring or overwhelming.

I really liked Fury Road as well but for some reason I can never find myself caring about prequels. It's like when I already know the destination, In this case Fury Road, I find it harder to care about the journey. I don't really care about how Furiosa became what she is. I'd much rather see a Furiosa movie about what happens with her after Fury Road.

Fury Road was an attempt at a bait and switch but them using mostly practical effects gave it a nice feel.
For Furiosa they've dropped the bait and gone full CG slop. I'll pass.

Mad Max was always about filming cars in the desert. They had a little too much CG in fury road imo but it worked out. Ditching practical effects entirely means it will be garbage

The first one was filmed in the NSW outback for $12.50 using old taxis that they repainted between scenes and it was Kino. This new shit has no soul.

The first one is such a good frickin movie and holds up even today, it used to run constantly at like 2am here and I would watch it after underage drinking with friends
