I recently watched Demonlover and it was the best film I've seen in a long time, would 100% recommend everyone watch. After finishing the film I was curious to see what critics thought about it and was shocked that neither they nor audiences enjoyed it.
There's a lot of great films with poor critic scores (eg. Con Air, Stepbrothers) but it's very rare that the audience score doesn't contradict it. The others I can think of are Only God Forgives and Alien 3 which I love and Neon Demon which I also really liked. I can understand with them why lots of people dislike them, the Demonlover hate is just baffling to me though.
Also the RT description and poster for Demonlover is so bad lol
Just remembered Universal: Soldier Day of Reckoning which has absolutely no right to be a great action film but somehow is brilliant
Monkeybone was pretty cool too
I'm actually remembering loads now

This movie pretty goofy its part of amityville series where the movies became about cursed objects from the house taking over other houses. A chick has s*x with her reflection. The clock like turns the house into a giant clock. The Amityville dollhouse one is also pretty crazy
Rember in the late 90s early 00s when every horror movie was edited like an MTV music video and just had endless batshit effects
Roger Ebert said that if feardotcom.com came out in the 20s in germany we'd be singing its praises as an expressionist masterpiece. Its a clone of the old japanese ring with y2k internet stuff its pretty werid
Under the Silver Lake is a pretty baffling one since its an incredible film on all fronts: acting, wrting, cinemetography, story, themes ect. I could understand audeinces not resonating with a schizo conspiracy psychological thriller but you think modern critics would latch on to it. Its a psychological thrilelr about a literally me g*mer incel who dives into underbelly of hollwoods elite looking for a missing girl he thought was cute. It frequently crosses genres and the songwriter scene is probably one of the most redpilled ever put to screen since Network and The Prisoner. Maybe thats why critics didnt like it

I've heard good things about Under the Silver Lake, surprised it's rated that low

I guess it saying women being s*x workers is bad and it suggesting all of the media lead forms of social and political counter culture were manufctured was a bit too groomercordant to make a dent with professional critics

Didn't finish it, it just seemed like one of those films that move like molasses for the sole purpose of making the requisite 90 minute mark.
