2. unironic trump derangement syndrome. The creator of the show actually did an interview where he said he was writing Season 1 when trump got elected and everything sort of changed for him after that. Which is why season 1 was good and actually a pretty funny satire of corporations, pop culture, wingcucks, etc. and then S2 onwards just became an r-slured circlejerk where every bad guy is a trump analogy or racist

also the mainstream consciousness is much more in line with the intelligentsia than it used to be so theres not much room for either to poke fun at the other
