They could have made Rhaenys have dark Baratheon hair before the timeskips, in vacuum Strong bastards are too obvious.
As a chud point of view, I don't know how they get away with so many dei negros, but have virtually zero Asians, Subcontinentals and even removing blonde hair from the Lannisters.
Blonde hair darkens with age though, there aren't many people with light-blonde shade as adults which isn't hair dye, it will usually become dark blonde by the time you're middle aged before graying. Though in the ASOIAF world there are people with silver hair and purple eyes so you probably have a point lol.
But about GOT, Jaime and Tyrion had light brown hair in later seasons while Cersei's wig got progressively orange.

The dude is also a Lannister, but you can't tell from the first glance, since he doesn't wear colours and hair is more light brown than blonde.
