I hate what they're doing with Alicent, Rhaenyra and by extension Rhaenys. The foids are supposed to be "reasonable" but they just come off as indecisive morons, I'm glad Rhaenys is dead though the way Meleys looked at her was heartbreaking

Yeh was way better in season 1 when they were real folk making bad decisions and having to deal with the fallout. Last ep ending with them talking was so dumb lol.

Alicent treating Aegon like shit and acting neglectful this season is also dumb. Season 1 Alicent was willing to mutilate a child to punish him for plucking her son's eye and she couldn't stand the fact of Rhaenyra's bastards inheriting the Iron Throne over her son. Now she's just like "whatever Aegon, you suck and a war will happen anyway", she doesn't even grieve for her murdered grandson, is as if she was a different character.

But I think it affected the story telling and theyre now doubling down to make Alicent and Rhaeynra strong indepedent women so they become more popular. At least give a reason for the sudden character change. The meeting scenes are pretty good otherwise. Aegon vs Aemond tension is fun.

Daemon is not an anti-hero, he's super villainous lol. He murdered his wife, sexually groomed his niece and had a toddler killed, had the blacks survived the dance he would probably had Rhaenyra killed on an "accident" and become King. I still like him because I love cool and unapologetic villains, but to pretend he's "grey" is just
They want Alicent to be a hypocritical and careless b-word but who can still be saved by her love towards Rhaenyra, while Rhaenyra gets whitewashed.
Agreed, Aemond didn't give a frick if his brother died or not when he made Vhagar dracarys them.
