I'm a few episodes into Rome. I've watched most of the HBO classics but somehow skipped this one. It's really good so far, I love that they portray Mark Antony as an oblivious r-slur lol.

Currently watching For All Mankind, basic premise is alt history where the USSR wins the race to the moon and so the space race just keeps going.

It's an Apple TV series from a few years ago, so there's relatively little political messaging/Netflix characters. Pacing can be a bit slow but it's pretty decent.

I recently watched the nine episodes that have been made of Hazbin Hotel so far. I will say that the show has a lot going for it, with every detail lush, vibrant, and positively oozing with dazzling style. Unfortunately, however, it is very much a style over substance affair. The show's attempts to mix Nickelodeon-type wacky cartoon comedy and Disney-style musical numbers with very dark themes are exceptionally clumsy and jarring. It's especially cringe-inducing in the fourth episode, which includes a musical number about being forced to perform degrading s*x acts in porn. As a whole, the show just doesn't really work on most levels, despite the massive amount of admirable creative energy put into it.

Perhaps season two will be better, if it gets made (which I assume it will). There is certainly a massive amount of potential here - potential that the first season didn't even remotely live up to.

Some dude here posted a massive list of animated shows a while ago. Slowly working through that.

At the moment im watching Spawn, the 1997 series. It is gorey, gritty and got a decent storyline. I normally dont like those old butt shows because the animation sucks but this one got some nice visuals.

First three episodes are slow to start but the gets ramped up fast.

We watched Twister again. I haven't seen it in years, my wife ever.

Still a good movie if you ignore all the logical inconsistencies. Like, shit I even noticed watching back in the 90s when I was barely a teenager. Shit that makes you wonder if anyone involved in production knew what a tornado was.

• In the opening, it was weird how a dark sky did a jump cut to an even darker sky with lightning.

• They keep getting within like, 50 feet of the tornados.

• Where's all the rain? Tornados are generally involved with thunderstorms

• Bill and Jo kept calling back on the radio with status updates. Buddy, the convoy is right behind you.

• Odd time jumps. It's nighttime. There's a report of a developing tornado 25 miles south. Next shot is about an hour past sunrise, clear sky. Next shot is daytime where they're trying to track down a tornado like it's a runaway dog.

• Every tornado dissipates moments after feeling up Jo. They never continue on.

• The "pack is too light" plot device doesn't make sense if you think of it for more than a quarter-second. The only way i guess it makes sense is if the balls have to stay within xxx feet of the can for data collection, but when you have a mile-wide tornado that's a pretty big transmission requirement to begin with.

• Jonas is a smarmy douche, but corporate sponsorship makes sense. More funding means better results, saving more lives. You could build a hundred Dorothys and line them up.

• JONAS IS BUTTHOLE. WHY BILLY HATE? (BECAUSE JONAS IS A BASTARD MAN)

• Overall weather jumps

Along with that, I'm gonna rewatch documentary about HIKI kamori in Japan from the 2000s. It's called the mystery of the missing million.

I just finished Mare of Easttown. I LOVED it until the last episode or two. The end reminded me of True Detective S3 where I didn't understand how professional writers on the HBO could write something so r-slurred. Still a solid 7 or 8/10 since Kate Winslet acted her big pendulous milkers off. I would put it on the same level as Sharp Objects, which had excellent atmosphere but even more r-sluration.

My hot recommendation is the Don't Hug Me I'm Scared TV show. HECK of a show.

Watched Longlegs at the cinema. Pretty good, I thought the payoff of the interview onwards was really good but apparently people think it went off the rails there. Seeing it in a busy (but expensive, no poors to ruin my experience) enhanced it I think.

Going to finish off The Boys S4 because might as well. Finished off House a little while ago and not sure where I'm going to go from here.
