The lack of a real, meaningful story and the over reliance on that one slow mo effect.
Like, I understand that it was set up to be essentially a slice of life thing, showing how the whole movie was just another tuesday for Dredd but with a lack of sequels it makes the dredd universe feel very small.
The first dredd movie did a better job at storytelling despite having Rob Schneider in it.

I've never been a big Halo fan but even I could get the reasons MC kept the helmet on and the gist of his back story.
Sounds like this guy a) didn't get it and b) was not a competant writer to deal with a masked protagonist and make them 'emote'.

also these people, despite seeing empathy as a virtue, have a hard time actually being empathetic. They need the character to be as close to them as possible for them to be able to relate to them. Others, like depraved g*mers, can actually engage in the suspension of reality, and like to engage in a fantasybwhere theyre a differwnt person or even an alien, rather than a fat couch ridden mess of mental health issues so that they can feel "included".
